Welcome to the RAPID website
"Reporting standards for research in Pediatric Dentistry" (RAPID) is an initiative that provides evidence-based recommendations to improve the reporting quality of research in Pediatric Dentistry. The RAPID statement facilitates complete and transparent reporting by minimizing biases arising from incomplete or inadequate reporting of studies in Pediatric Dentistry.
Need for RAPID
On appraisal of the literature, it was found that several vital information relevant to children’s oral health are not being adequately reported. This includes diet history, feeding practices, behavior rating, behavior management, informed consent, caries risk assessment, dose calculations, age-specific and developmental stage-specific confounders, patient- and parent-based treatment outcomes as well as their satisfaction. RAPID statement will allow a standard way for researchers, authors, targeted audiences and journal editors to aid critical appraisal and interpretation of the study reports in Pediatric Dentistry.
